Hike #17: Sheepeater Cliffs (8/3/2012)

After a rare Friday work day, we decided to hit the trails a bit before we met Uncle Nicholas and Auntie Erin down in Gardiner.  Sheepeater Cliffs is really close to us (on the way to Norris) and short, but pretty spectacular.
My boys on the trail.

Still in work clothes and a wind-blown combover.
The story of the cliffs and the area is that an Native American tribe (the sheep eaters) who ate big horn sheep as their main protien source and they way they hunted them was running them off cliffs.
They ran sheep off this cliff.  Pretty cool.

That columnar basalt is just cool and with the talis slope below.

More shots of the guys.

Nice to be able to go somewhere like this after a day of work. Wow, we are lucky!
